Ryan Seelke, a litigation attorney, focuses his practice on mine safety litigation, specifically the representation of mine operations and individuals in legal proceedings instituted by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (“MSHA”).  He graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Economics from the University of Central Missouri and shortly thereafter earned a MBA from Saint Louis University. Ryan earned his law degree from Washington University School of Law where he graduated in the top quarter of his class and spent his last semester working at the United States Attorneys' Office.  Ryan’s mining practice includes litigating the issuance and assessment of enforcement actions; training plan assistance; drafting petitions for modifications; conducting accident and injury investigations; audits; drafting and arguing appeals before the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission and defending Section 105 discrimination actions and Section 110 special investigations.

In addition, Ryan provides custom training programs to mine operators and their employees in the areas of supervisor responsibility, liability prevention and best practices. When not actively litigating case, Ryan can be found regularly presenting at mine safety conferences throughout the country.  He also has the honor of serving on the Board of Directors for the Missouri Mine Safety and Health Conference and as outside counsel for the South Central Joint Mine Health and Safety Conference.  Ryan also serves as the practice group leader for the firm’s MSHA practice group.
